In June 2025, many Texas families will receive their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits during the second week of the month.

This is part of a carefully planned schedule that runs from the 1st to the 28th of each month, as designed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).

This approach ensures a smooth process for both recipients and stores accepting the Lone Star card, which is the electronic card that recipients use like a debit card.

The benefits are assigned based on the last two digits of a recipient's Eligibility Determination Group (EDG) number, with specific days set for depositing the funds onto the Lone Star cards. Here is the payment calendar for the second week of June 2025:

  • June 11: Benefits for case numbers ending in 35-38
  • June 12: Benefits for case numbers ending in 39-41
  • June 13: Benefits for case numbers ending in 42-45
  • June 14: Benefits for case numbers ending in 46-49

These dates are important for families to know so they can plan their grocery purchases around when their funds will be available.

Eligibility and Benefit Amounts for Texas SNAP

To qualify for SNAP, families must meet income guidelines which depend on the number of people in the household. The income limits set for 2025 are as follows:

  • 1 person: $2,005 maximum income per month
  • 2 people: $2,712 maximum income per month
  • 3 people: $3,419 maximum income per month
  • 4 people: $4,125 maximum income per month
  • 5 people: $4,832 maximum income per month
  • For each additional person: add $707 to the income limit

The amount of benefits a household receives will depend on its size:

  • 1 person: Up to $291 per month
  • 2 people: Up to $535 per month
  • 3 people: Up to $766 per month
  • 4 people: Up to $973 per month
  • 5 people: Up to $1,155 per month

Apart from the income requirements, many SNAP beneficiaries aged 16 to 59 need to either be actively looking for work, participate in training programs, or meet certain work requirements, unless they are exempt due to disability, pregnancy, or other specific circumstances.

This structured support is designed to help families maintain nutritious diets without the stress of financial strain.
